What does the role entail?

I deal with numbers, but the role extends far beyond that of a mere calculator. I am responsible for the cost forecasting, management of change and risk assessment of all railway projects assigned to me.

I have to identify changes that have incurred to costs during the construction phase, record them, and negotiate changes to costs with our customer.

What was your educational pathway?

I studied finance, psychology, and religious studies at A-Level. I did marketing and international business at university. I then went on to do a master’s in quantity surveying after securing a role on the graduate scheme.

What do you love about the role?

This job intellectually stimulates me on the daily, and I find that even after 8 years here, I am still learning something new each day.
