What does this role involve?
Typical duties include:
- Working closely with other engineers, designers and technicians
- Conducting research and analysis to determine requirements for new products or systems
- Developing concepts using computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Testing prototypes and identifying problems
- Ensuring that design comply with regulations, standards and safety requirements

Qualifications
- STEM subjects at GCSE grades A*-C
- A-Levels in relevant engineering and design subjects
- Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma
- T Level in Engineering, Design or related subject
- Level 4 NVQ, equivalent Level 5 Diploma or equivalent Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering, Design or related subject
- Relevant health and safety qualifications
