What does this role involve?
Typical duties include:
- Monitoring air quality using specialist equipment
- Analysing data
- Developing and implementing plans to improve air quality, often using computer modelling
- Preparing reports
- Working with businesses, government agencies and the public

Qualifications
- STEM subjects at GCSE grades A*-C
- A-Levels in relevant science subjects
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Physical Science, Engineering or related subject
- Level 4 NVQ or equivalent T Level in Environmental Science, Physical Science, Engineering or related subject
- Level 6 Diploma or equivalent Degree Apprenticeship in Environmental Science, Physical Science, Engineering or related subject
