What does the role entail?
Our Railway I.T. Apprentices are brilliant at anything digital, working behind the scenes to keep rail technology safe and secure. They support teams across organisations to make sure their systems are working correctly, solving issues as they arise and creating cutting-edge apps to help colleagues work smarter and safer online.

What was your educational pathway?
I completed A-Levels in Business Studies, Information Technology, Politics, and Media Studies. I am currently pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions as part of my Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
What do you love about the role?
I love the variety of my role – gaining broad exposure, diverse skills, and real responsibility through different placements. The hands-on experience, project ownership, and opportunity to make a tangible impact makes it both exciting & rewarding.

Combining solo travel with volunteering has quickly become a meaningful pursuit for me, as it not only enriches my personal life but also pushes me outside my comfort zone and helps me develop a stronger sense of independence. I really value these experiences as a way to broaden my global perspective, contribute to amazing causes, experience new cultures, and learn from people of all walks of life.
