What does the role entail?
Our railway teachers inspire the next generation of rail enthusiasts to travel safely and with confidence. They are safety experts and rail ambassadors rolled into one. They teach young people how to stay safe on the railway and around trains, while sparking their imaginations with the possibilities a career in rail can offer.

What was your educational pathway?
I did a 4 year teaching training degree at University and then taught in primary schools for ten years prior to joining the railway.
What do you love about the role?
No two days are the same. I get to design educational resources, take groups out on exciting trips on the rail network and work with so many different people on various projects.

Travelling. (I love going interrailing across Europe. It’s much better for the environment than flying and you can check out so many new places whilst you go!)
