What does the role entail?

I design technology for buildings, trains and tracks, that solve problems and make sure people are safe.

What was your educational pathway?

I did maths, physics and design technology for A-Level – then I studied mechanical engineering at university.

What do you love about the role?

I enjoy solving problems by developing new ways of working or approving new technologies. It’s never easy to introduce new things but seeing the progress once they’re implemented in the business is great.
