This Friday 23rd April, representatives from across the rail sector will be joining Routes into Rail at Student Pride Careers fair – the UK’s largest LGBTQ+ career fair.

‘Pride Careers’ allows companies looking to attract diverse graduate talent to set out their stalls each year. This is an opportunity for over 3,000 LGBTQ+ students to discuss career options that will allow them to thrive both professionally and personally.

Students will hear voices from across the rail sector, including Shane Andrews MBE and Rajinder Pryor from Network Rail, Adeline Ginn MBE from Women in Rail, Max Sugarman from The Railways Industry Association, and Matthew Wilson from VolkerWessels UK. With demand high for the next generation of engineers, data analysts, project managers and business development managers, it’s a great time for people to start joining the rail sector.

The panel will also discuss what it’s like to be LGBTQ+ in the rail sector, the many career paths available to graduates, and tips on where to find support and more information. Mindful of creating more inclusive working environments in the rail sector, over 140 organisations in rail have committed to the ‘Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity Charter’ that was launched in 2020 by Women in Rail and The Railways Industry Association.
