This week, 10-16 February, is National Apprenticeship Week. Routes into Rail is getting involved by helping people learn more about apprenticeships.
The theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week is ‘Skills for Life’. Apprenticeships are a great way for people of all ages to develop the skills they need to succeed in their careers. With a huge demand for workers, higher-than-average pay and a sustainable future, the rail industry is a great place to work – and it uses apprenticeships widely for a range of roles.
Those who are interested in an apprenticeship but don’t know how to get started can read our article about how to become an apprentice in rail. It has advice on types of apprenticeships, how to find opportunities and what the application process will be like.
The Routes into Rail National Apprenticeship Week content will also focus on degree apprenticeships. Read our article all about degree apprenticeships and stories from rail degree apprentices about how their apprenticeship set them up to succeed in their careers.
For anyone who is subscribed to our newsletter or emails about the latest job opportunities in rail, we will be sending out emails about our funders’ live opportunities, National Apprenticeship Week events and practical information about rail apprenticeships.
Routes into Rail will also be posting on its LinkedIn and Instagram pages all week about apprenticeships and apprentices. Followers can expect to hear from real apprentices in rail about their experiences, what they do day-to-day and advice on how to get started in a rail apprenticeship.
