In February, Routes into Rail delivered a successful webinar at National Apprenticeship Week presenting all the available opportunities and ways to being a career Rail. Representatives from HS2, VolkerRail, Young Rail Professionals and NSAR spoke to over 800 people at the first Routes into Rail event with CareerMap.

Andrew Fawkes of VolkerRail covered the different opportunities within VolkerRail, the opportunities available within engineering, and the diversity of options for apprentices after their apprenticeships end.

Ben Ellis of Siemens and Young Rail Professionals spoke about his career journey which involved two apprenticeships, first with the Royal Navy and then a second apprenticeship through The Institute of Leadership and Management, which helped him progress his career in management going forward.
